OVERVIEW
Mech. Eng. Services is committed to conducting its business in compliance with all relevant National and State laws, regulations and guides. Our organisation has a commitment to informing and training all employees and contractors of their obligations as they relate to their duties.
ACTIONS
In order to achieve our compliance, Mech. Eng. Services is committed to the following actions and practices:
Hot Work Permits: All Hot Work including welding and allied processes will be carried out in compliance with AS 1674.1 1997 and AS 1674.2 2007.
Working On-Site: All technicians carrying out on-site work will be inducted and trained in Mech. Eng. Services On-site Safe Work Methods, and the use of Job Safety Analysis forms and risk assessment forms.
Isolation Procedures: All technicians will comply with Mech. Eng. Services isolation procedures to ensure any work undertaken on machinery or production lines is done so in an “offline” state.
Working at Heights: All technicians carrying out work at heights will be inducted and trained in Mech. Eng. Services Working at Heights Safe Work Method Statement.
Safe Food Handling: All technicians will be trained in safe food handling by Food Safety Australia.
Training: Mech. Eng. Services is committed to the ongoing WH&S training for all employees and contractors.
Compliance: Mech. Eng. Services conducts internal reviews and checks, monitoring to achieve our goal of compliance and a safer work environment for employees, contractors and customers.
Customer Requirements: Whilst Mech. Eng. Services will commit to conformance to the Chain of Responsibility, we also will seek commitment from our Customers that:
Customers induct technicians and declare location of pits or fall hazards, confined spaces, location of isolation points, and any hazardous substances or materials present on site,
Their equipment and facilities are in compliance with Australian safety legislation,
All machinery and equipment to have current electrical ‘test and tag’ tags,
Customers will not influence or instruct technicians to breach any WH&S regulations.
The system, policies and supporting procedures shall be reviewed at a minimum of three (3) years from the Issued Date, or on significant change to legislation, or policies and supporting procedures that could affect the health and safety of workers.
